Psalm 91
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
Then all of a sudden I looked out my passenger side window and there was an 18-wheeler passing us on the right shoulder of the highway.
“Whoa! What is he doing?” I thought.
It happened fast as we continued to travel behind the truck with the load of oxygen. The driver of that truck hauling the oxygen probably did not even see what had just happened. However, when I looked back I noticed the 18-wheeler had finally stopped off to the side of the highway. That was when I realized what had actually just occurred. Obviously, the driver could not brake or slow down soon enough and had to leave the highway to avoid sandwiching us between his truck and the one in front of us and, in turn, exploding that oxygen tank. Thankfully, he and his truck was also safe and sound.
God was definitely at work saving all of us from what could have been a very tragic accident.
I give God the praise and the glory for His protective hand through this and for His protective hand every day, even when I am unaware and negligent of His Holy presence.
