One of my all-time favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 23, It is probable the very first chapter I memorized when I was a young girl and a member of GA's in our church. I post it here today because it means so much to know that God is leading me, directing me, and walking with me through every step in life. I am assured that I do not walk alone. This is also my inspiration for the writing which follows:
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
I DO NOT WALK ALONE
With the morning,
enters peace adorning,
for I do not walk alone.
My heart, forsaken not, it is God's own.
He watches, He sees-
When in despair,
He is, no-less, there.
He hears my prayer.
When I fret, cry, or lift a despairing sigh,
God strengthens as time hastens by.
When fear assaults my flesh,
God offers a Father's caress, warm and fresh.
I do not walk alone;
my every thought and step is known.
In him, my tears can heal.
In the cross is set my snow-white seal.
God is, so, forever real!
He watches, he sees,
and knows just what I feel.
My burdens he carries with majestic ease.
I do not walk alone,
my heart, forsaken not, it is His own.
