Letting Go of Weights

Heavy burdens make us weak.  You would think, like lifting weights, we would become stronger in time as we grudgingly pick up our burdens every morning and carry them all day.  But, that is not how it works.  Our burdens drag us down.  We become exhausted under the weight of carrying them alone.
Psalm 55:22 tells us to "cast thy burdens upon the Lord, and He will sustain thee."  That tells me God wants to bear our burdens for us.  He wants our burdens upon His shoulders, not ours.
When we let go of our burdens and worries, we are transformed.  Our body becomes stronger, our mind becomes clearer, our walk becomes straighter, our trust in God becomes superior, our prayer life lingers through the hours of the day,  and our hands are freed to grasp the Hand of the Deliverer, our God.  When we "Let Go and Let God," our radiance glows, our bodies are made lighter.  We can fly into the day with a smile and a laugh.  We can joyfully sail through the burdens of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.   We can embrace the day!
