Come-Take-Learn

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I find three verbs of meaning within this scripture. Jesus says to Come-Take-Learn. These words are simple in definition, but within this scripture they have a powerful meaning.

It is really simple to come to Jesus. When I come to Him in prayer and thanksgiving, He has the power to solve my problems and relieve my burdens. I just need to release them to Him.

When I take up my yoke and share it with the Lord, He carries the main load. We move together as one and in the same direction.

When I begin to learn about Jesus and His loving ways, my burdens are lifted; they become lighter and life is easier and more restful.
