Song of Praise

Song of Praise

O Lord!

You are my God!

I will give You praise.

In my helplessness,

You are my defense;

In the heat of the day, my shade;

Through the storm, my refuge.

I praise Your Holy Name.

You wipe away my tears,

Remove my fears,

Establish my years.

You turn my weariness into hope,

My sadness into joy,

My woe into song.

You are my strength in need,

In heartache,

In trouble.

O Lord!

You are there.

You are my God,

And I will praise Your Holy Name.

“For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” Isaiah 25:4 KJV

“And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:9 KJV

Seven S's of God's Gifts

This morning I identified Seven S’s of what God gives me although I am sure there are more.

1.     God gave me the Scripture:

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

2.     He promised to keep me safe.

“You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked.:” Psalm 12:7

3.     He promised to keep me secure

“As we have heard so we have seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God; GOD makes secure forever.” Psalm 48: 8

4.     He promised to keep give me success:

“He holds success in store for the upright, He is shield to those whose walk is blameless.” Proverbs 2:7

5.     He promised to give me strength:

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29

6.  and 7. He gives me salvation and is my stronghold in time of trouble:

“The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble.” Psalm 37:39
