Test Me

2 Corinthians 13:5a says, “Examine yourselves to whether are in the faith; test yourselves.”

Psalms 139:23-24a says, Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me.”

I need to examine myself daily; I need to welcome God’s daily examination of my heart. There is a test going on here. Where once, I thought my testing would end when I graduated from school, I was wrong. The testing occurs every day, and I need to welcome it. The exam keeps me growing daily. As long as I follow in the steps of 2 Timothy 2:15 maybe I can achieve an “A” on my report card. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

The Final Test

I’ve taken many tests in my lifetime. I remember in school that all was silent with the teacher quietly walking around and observing. Would I cheat? Would I copy? Would I work on my own? This was more than one test! It was a test of knowing the answers and a test on how I would act.

With each test, I have been anxious but should have been confident in my ability, in my knowledge, and in my judgment.

I know I will always have tests, but I also know there will be one final test. I will be anxious but confident when it is graded. I will be anxious about how many “Xs” I receive versus how many checkmarks, yet I will be confident about passing because I have done the one thing in life that I truly needed to do in order to pass.

I received and believed in the One who sits at the right hand of God. I believe in Jesus! He came to save me. He is the Teacher who observes my work. He walks around silently watching whether I cheat, copy, or stand strong with the answers He has provided.

When I take the final test, I know I will pass. I also know I will not be assigned the chair of honor because Jesus claimed that seat when He bled upon the cross and took my sin, but I am assured I will pass through the gate, and I will fall at my Teacher's feet.

Questionnaire

Below are a few questions found in Isaiah 40. I will attempt to answer them and see if I score 100.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand? God

Who marked off the heavens by the breadth of His hand? God

Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket? God

Who weighed the mountains on the scales? God

Who weighted the hills in a balance? God

Who weighs the islands as though they are dust? God

Who sits enthroned above the circle of the earth? God

Who brings out the starry host one by one and calls them by name? God

Who never tires? God

Who helps His sheep (me) soar on wings like eagles? God does

Who helps me run, walk and not faint? God does

Who sent the Spirit to live within my heart? God did

God is far greater than I can ever grasp!

The Test Question

This is a test question worth 100 points:

What does not heal, never solves a problem, and only hurts self? Here is a hint- What festers and disrupts the mindset?

The answer is: Unforgiveness

We all know that forgiveness heals and helps us move forward. In Mark 11:25 we are told: "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Test Your Armour

We are told to "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."  What is this armour?  "Having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication..."
To be filled with truth and dressed in the armour of strength and knowledge, I need to be praying and be in the word of God.  I need to put everything to the test through the Word, through Jesus Christ.
