“When you” is not “if” you. In Matthew 6, Jesus said, “When you” three times. It was “when you give, when you pray, and when you fast.” He went on to tell how to do it and how not to do it.
When you give in the right way, the Father will hear and reward.
When you pray in the right way, the Father will hear and reward.
When you fast in the right way, the Father will hear and reward.
Give, fast, and pray- these are commands.
