Run the Race

Lord,

Because of you, I can rejoice – I am alive - I thrive.

Give me drive to strive deeper into Your Word,

 And to stay the course.

What I lack -When I fall back-

Get me back on track,

And help me run the race.

Lord,

Fix my eyes on Jesus,

Who paid the price- who made the sacrifice,

Who rose again,

And Who made a home for me in paradise.

Please establish my pace-

Hold me tight with You ever in my space.

And Lord,

I thank you for Your grace.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set down before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Good Always, Always Good

During creation, God looked at His work and said, “It is good.” In Romans 8:28 we find that “for those who love God all things work together for good.”

Not all of life is good. There is going to be some bad, but the good overrules. I must remember that the bad is there to help me grow and ready me for the good to come. I love the phrase, “God is good all the time. All the time, God is good."

Therefore, my word of the day is Good.

G od first in every day.

O ffer thanks to God. Thank Him “Before” and thank Him “After”.

vercome the bad with God’s help, for He is with me.

D aily, hourly seek God in every situation.

Love Beyond Comprehension

Romans 8:38-39 “…neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us (me) from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our (my) Lord.”
There is so much power in these verses. God’s power is amazing. It is beyond comprehension! I take the greatest comfort in knowing the power of God’s love for me. I AM LOVED! For this very reason, I wake every morning with peace and joy.

Blessings

Once upon a time there was a woman in need.  She was retired and slowly aging but had the spunk of endurance.  Yet. she was facing an overwhelming  job, or so she thought!  She owned a house which needed renovating in order to place it on the market to sell.  The lady had worked  tirelessly and determined, but there was just too much to get done.  What was she to do?
There was her husband who worked alongside her and supported her, but let's face it and be honest, there was still work which needed to be accomplished sooner than both of them could physically handle in order to meet her established schedule.
You know, it tells us in scripture not to worry.  It also tells us that God will send blessings to those who love him.  "I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing."
Many blessings were sent her way this past week.   First of all, the weather turned cool which made it possible to open up all the exterior door of the house so they could be painted inside and out.  Next, a friend next door used his tractor to haul off and clean up a huge array of junk from the back yard which had been left there by previous renters.  Third, but certainly not least, a very dear friend arrived for the second time and spend his day off  volunteering to do all kinds of renovations that were not within the scope of her knowledge or experience to accomplish.  He worked with amazing speed and endurance.  There was simply no task he could not do or was unwilling to do.
There is no ending to this story yet, but the lady in this story recognizes the hand of God in her life, in this on-going project,  in the people sent to help, and in all of her blessings- past, present, and future.
Romans 8:28  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
