Good Always, Always Good

During creation, God looked at His work and said, “It is good.” In Romans 8:28 we find that “for those who love God all things work together for good.”

     Not all of life is good. There is going to be some bad, but the good overrules. I must remember that the bad is there to help me grow and ready me for the good to come. I love the phrase, “God is good all the time. All the time, God is good."

     Therefore, my word of the day is Good.

G od first in every day.

O ffer thanks to God. Thank Him “Before” and thank Him “After”.

O vercome the bad with God’s help, for He is with me.

D aily, hourly seek God in every situation.

All Is His!

 I usually wake before it gets light outside especially since the time change, and I have not enjoyed my 1st cup of coffee outside lately until yesterday.  The temperature was finally just right, the pollen was out of the air, and Spring was in the air, so I enjoyed quiet time on the patio.  The early morning, spring sounds  bring relaxation and a closeness to God as I acknowledge that He created it all.  He owns it all!

All Is His

I look at the flowers in bloom,

Decked in radiant costume,

And I see the beauty of God.

Roaming around streams and brooks

In awe of their shimmery looks,

I find His peace.

I watch the clouds floating by,

Up so high,

And know by whom they were created.

God walks with me

 And, wonders, He helps me see.

I listen to the birds twit their song,

As they fly along,

And I hear the sound of God’s voice;

It makes me rejoice.

I hear the wind;

Feel it upon my skin.

It was sent by God.

I feel the breeze

And, with God, I feel at ease.

With His gently touch,

He gives so much;

Like the gentle raindrops,

A Godly kiss upon my cheek, before it stops.

God has created it all!

Between He and I, He built no wall.

He is always within my reach and call.

Questions and Answers

My Daily Hope devotional this morning stated, "There is no other book in the world like it! (referring to the Bible) It has the answers to life's questions, including: Why am I here? Where am I going? What is the purpose of life? Does my life matter? What's the past? What's the future? Where did I come from?"
     Thinking about these questions, I decided to attempt to give an answer as pertains to me.

Why am I here? To love Jesus and others
Where am I going? To heaven
What is the purpose of life? To worship God and tell others about Jesus
Does my life matter? It matters because God created me for a purpose
What's the past? A life filled with forgiven mistakes which I cannot redo but wish I could
What is the future? A life filled with hope and the reward of heaven
Where did I come from? From God; a creation formed by His hands. He breathed life into me

The Beginning

This is my second post this morning, but after the first one I decided there was more to say about the beginning since this is the 1st day of 2024. God started it all In The Beginning.  He made it all, continues to make it all, rule over it all, and blesses it all. Without Him, there would be no 2024.

 The Beginning

 In the beginning

The world was not spinning

Until God made it so.

He made it to glow

After forming heaven and earth

Within the first day’s birth.

There was light.

Then there was night.

He made the dry land and the wet land,

Preparing it for man.

God commanded seed to sprout

And filled the rivers with trout.

He made the birds and creatures;

All with different features.

God said, “It is good and fine.”

Then he created the human bloodline.

He made man

To rule the land

And blessed it all.

God's Creation

 When I came in from church today and looked out my window, I noticed brown fallen leaves on the ground.  Then I looked at all the leaves yet to fall.  What I saw was beauty, even though I knew there were be a mountain of leaves for me to rake.  But, even with future work ahead, what remains in my vision is the amazing paradise God created.

                         God's Creation

I see God’s work in all of nature- in every feature.

The clouds that dazzle in circular motion awe my emotion;

The sunset stirs imagination and heightens tingling sensation.

I see God’s beauty in the rainbow arched across the sky,

Sometimes colorfully bright, sometimes hazy up so high.

All of creation is a wonder to the eye;

The trees budding in early spring,

The robins popping out to sing,

Flowers springing up across the meadow

In the glow of sun’s rays or even in its shadow.

I see God’s creative hand all across the land.

In the turning of fall leaves, God continually weaves.

I see the hand of favor from my Savior

As He sends the welcome rains across dried-up plains.

The sun, moon, and stars are a paradise;

God’s day and night devise.

Within His creation,

There are snowed-capped mountains,

trickling streams, and smooth flowing fountains.

Whether sunny fields or snowy places,

Whether weedy gardens or well-groomed grounds,

Beauty is all-around.

There are truly no desert places.

 God’s touch is in all the spaces.

Each and every expression is in His Almighty possession.

Creation

     The glory of God is seen everyday at home and everywhere you travel.  What's more, God trusted us and placed us in charge of His creation when He said, "Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth...See I have given you every herb that yields seed...every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it is for food."
     You see, God entrusted His people with a work to do, and He expects us to value all He has given us and to value our work.  We are to do our work well.
     Part of what this means to me is, don't litter.  Enjoy His glorious works.  Feed the birds and watch their amazing flight patterns, take time to marvel in the creatures and plants, protect God's wonderful sights, love nature, soak up the sun, and breathe the fresh air.  Feel the soil.  Yes, go barefoot from time to time.
     I have to admire not everyone gets into nature and barefoot ways, but we can all do our part to enjoy the sunsets and rainbows of blessings.  Most of all, "be fruitful" with His creation and thank Him; praise Him beneath His glorious heavens.

Psalms 19:1-2, 6a "The heavens proclaim the glory of God.  The skies display His craftmanship.  Day after day they continue to speak.  Night after night they make Him known.  The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end..."

     How can we glory in God's creation if we do not know Him?  Hosea 6:3a "Oh, that we might know the Lord!"  (6b) "I want you to know me..."
     A small part of learning to know God begins "In The Beginning".  Let's not betray His trust in our charge to have dominion over the earth.

7 Days Until Thanksgiving

     The count down to Thanksgiving...continued...
     With seven days until Thanksgiving, I am thankful that God equipped me when he created me with what is necessary to sustain me; my eyes to see, ears to hear, my sense of smell, taste, and touch.  What a blessing!
     Thanking of the five senses, I searched and found the following poem by Eva Grant.
 5 Senses
 Wonderful World
I can see
Trees and grass,
The sun and sky;
I can taste
Chocolate ice cream,
Apple pie;
I can hear
Music, laughter,
Words you said;
I can smell
Perfume, flowers,
Baking bread;
I can touch
Silk and velvet,
A baby's skin;
What a wonderful
World I'm in!

Psalm 139:13 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb."
