Height and Depth

 

It surpasses my comprehension of

how deep and wide, 

wide and deep -

is God’s love for me

I cannot grasp 

the breadth and length,

 height and depth -

of His love for me.

Yet, I know I am rooted and grounded, 

grounded and rooted - 

In God’s great love.

You see

I am written,

 graven,

inscribed,

imprinted, 

tattooed,

engraved

marked

on the palm of my Lord’s hand.

It happened 

when the nails pierced His palms,

when I believed.

when I accepted.

You see

 I am made whole -

A child of Christ!

“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you, being rooted and ground in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 ESV

 

“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:16 ESV

 

 

Rooted and Grounded

I’m just a country girl who is blessed to live in an area with tall magnificent timbers with strong limbs that branch out in all directions. They are “rooted and grounded” just as I want to be, and I am. God grants that. 

     He grants me “…according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit…so that Christ may dwell in your (my) heart through faith…and being rooted and grounded in love…to comprehend…what is the breadth and length and height and depth…to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge…and to be filled with the fullness of God.”  Ephesians 3:16-19

     I am blessed to be rooted and grounded in God’s love.

Rooted and Grounded

 I cannot tell anyone how deep my roots grow, but I can still say, "I am rooted and grounded by God's almighty love. His power goes before me, and for that I glorify His name." 

To God be the glory forever and ever.

He has wonder working power every minute, every hour!

To Him be the glory, 

For He’s holy, holy, holy.  

         I’m loved, loved, loved, abundant and forever.

         I’m rooted and grounded in the name of the Lord.

I have guilt over sin, 

But I'm washed from within..

I’m clean, clean, clean-

Shiny and pristine. 

I’m loved, loved, loved, abundant and forever.

I’m rooted and grounded in the name of the Lord. 

From His throne up on high-

Up high in the sky-

When I enter His space,

Mercy cometh from His place. 

I’m loved, loved, loved, abundant and forever.

I’m rooted and grounded in the name of the Lord.

To God be the glory, 

And that is my story, 

For, He’ll never ever leave me.

No! Never, never, never.

I’m loved, loved, loved, abundant and forever.

I’m rooted and grounded in the name of the Lord.
