Joint Adventure

     Life can be a joint adventure. Anyway, that is usually the way it is in our household. The question might be who does the most? Who labors more? Who is in control? 

     Any successful adventure needs to include the One Most High. Take for example the following: 

 

I plant the garden, but my husband waters it, but who makes it grow? 

 

On trips I drive halfway, and my husband drives the other half, but who gets us there safely? 

 

I cook, and my husband does the dishes, but who supplies the food? 

 

I dust, and my husband vacuums, but who puts the real joy into our home? 

 

I believe I found the answer in 1 Corinthians 3:6-9. It is the joint-partner we hold tightly to in prayer and thanksgiving.

 

“I planted the seed, Apolios watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
