I woke this morning to a post shared of John Braddy performing Leaning On The Everlasting Arms through the various ways it might have been sung through different eras. Although, it made me laugh, I found the best way was the original way. It’s been too long since we sang this song in church, and the following words of the song uplifted my heart.
What a fellowship, what a joy divine
Leaning on the everlasting arms
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
What have I to dread, what have I to fear
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Afterward, I turned to my In Touch devotional and Romans 12 answered some questions on how I can lean on the everlasting arms of my God. Some are:
Give honor
Be diligent
Be fervent in spirit
Serve the Lord
Rejoice in hope
Persevere in tribulation
Be devoted in prayer
